Love in the Trenches – Jamie Durbin
Monday, October 4, 2010, 7:00 p.m.
Jamie joins us again this year to bring us insight into our marriages. If you missed her Chocolate Friendships last year, you don’t want to miss Love in the Trenches at our October meeting.
Jamison Durbin is a part-time writer, speaker, jazz vocalist as well as a full time mother of four (Timothy-19, Tommy-17, Johnathan-16 and Jenny Girl-14). She is a graduate of the School of Women’s Ministries and was a member of the MOPS (Mothers Of Preschoolers) program for ten years. In 1997 she started a new MOPS group in her home church, Centennial Covenant, where she was the coordinator until the spring of 2001.
Jamison’s humorous speaking style has been enjoyed at women’s’ groups and retreats since 1996. Jamison is currently a Mentor Mom for the MOPS she helped to start and is enjoying her new role thoroughly!
Jamie and her husband, Troy, together address the challenge of keeping your marriage healthy while raising children. We will be focusing on Connection in the Trenches and Conflict Resolution. Connection in the Trenches examines the number one priority in marriage—connection—what impedes it, and strategies for maintaining it. In Conflict Resolution we learn that conflict is good for marriage, the difference between healthy and unhealthy conflict, how to “fight fair” and addresses some common conflicts in marriage.
