Kid’s Stuff Sale 101 and Olive Garden Dinner

for our monthly meeting. We are excited to announce that Darling Doubles
has won the award for having the most member participation at the TTTS
Race for Hope! The Fetal Hope Foundation is providing a free Olive Garden
dinner for us to celebrate!
Our meeting this month is all about the Kid’s Stuff Sale. We will be tackling
different topics related to the sale including who’s who, how to tag, and
volunteer opportunities. Whether you are a new seller or an old pro, we will
have a lot of fun sharing tips to maximize sales!
We will also have our usual after-meeting gathering at C. B. & Potts on
120th between Mariposa and Huron. See you there!

Please bring your family and join us for the Holiday Party!

St. Mark’s Catholic Church, Westminster
Santa will be making his usual appearance, and this year he’ll be bringing gifts to ALL the girls and boys. But he needs your help! Please bring a small, wrapped gift for each child to the party (be sure to have a first and last name on the tag!) Since Santa can only carry so much in his pack, please limit the size of each gift to no larger than an adult’s hand. And because Santa is fair to all children, please be sure each gift is valued at $5 or less.
Santa gave us a list of ideas to get you started:
• Flashlight
• Spinning toothbrush
• Holiday socks
• Hair accessories
• Sunglasses
• Character fork/spoon set
We’ll have a special container set aside at the party where you can
discreetly place the gifts before Santa makes his big entrance!

December Club Meeting: Holiday Party & Gift Exchange

Join us at 6:15 pm at the regular meeting location, Cross of Christ Church, for our monthly meeting. This month is our annual holiday party and dinner. We will be bringing in a tasty buffet for our members! Following dinner, we will do our gift exchange. Please bring a wrapped $15 gift. This has been a hit year after year. Come join in the fun!
*In order to know how much food to order, we will be sending out an Evite. Please respond so we can have enough food!

November Club Meeting: “Tie it Up” and Vendor Night!
Monday, November 10th, 2008 - 7 p.m.
Join us at 7 pm at the regular meeting location, Cross of Christ Church, for our monthly meeting. Please note that we are meeting the 2nd Monday of November due to the election. This month, we will be crafting and shopping! We are making 44 no-sew tie fleece blankets. We will be donating them as a Christmas gift to the children who live at Mount Saint Vincent Home. Please bring a pair of sharp scissors and a metal retractable tape measure. Here is a quick tutorial.
In addition to crafting, we will be hosting our annual vendor night. Feel free to get a jump on your Christmas shopping! We will also have our usual after-meeting gathering at C. Hey mamas! Last minute update here - looking for something fun to do with your kids this weekend? Head over to the Denver Botanic Gardens on Sunday, August 3rd for the GROWING SEEDS OF CHANGE - FAMILY FUN DAY. The event is sponsored by The Rocky Mountain Down Syndrome Educational Fund and runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“The Family Fun Day will provide a meaningful and fun way to help change attitudes and educate people about diversity and differences, especially when it comes to Down syndrome,” said Brian Vogt, CEO of Denver Botanic Gardens.“ Growing those seeds of change in young minds is an important step and we are pleased that we can take that step on the grounds of the Gardens”
“Denver Botanic Gardens is a dream space for an event like this,” Michelle Sie Whitten, Chair of the Advisory Board of The Rocky Mountain Down Syndrome Educational Fund and Executive Director of Anna and John J. Sie Foundation said. “Through our families we are able to bring a lot of new families to one of Denver’s greatest cultural facilities and it gives us an opportunity to raise awareness for some wonderfully worthy causes.”
This event is going to be a blast for parents and their children, with lots to see and do! Come hang out with characters from popular books, such as Alice in Wonderland, Harry Potter and Winnie the Pooh. Local celebrities will be on hand to do book readings. (who? Shag-man from Rocky’s Auto? The G-Man from the Fox? I can’t wait to find out who our local “celebrities” are!) Many hands-on activities will be available for kids to take part in, and families can get their picture taken with costumed characters.
Here is just a short list of what to expect:
- Storybook Characters – Alice in Wonderland, Queen of Hearts, Cat in the Hat, and Harry Potter
- Storybook Readings by Local Celebrities
- Milk & Cookies with the Milkman
- Flower Pot Painting
- Planting Stations
- Face Painting
- Balloon Artist
And, most exciting of all, a chance to see one of my kids’ favorite bands ever, MILKSHAKE, performing live in concert and doing a Meet & Greet and photos with fans!
If you have preschool age kids who watch Noggin, you probably are familiar with Milkshake’s music, as they’ve appeared many times on Jack’s Big Music Show. They’re also one of the sponsors of Children’s Music Month on LaLaGirl Reviews, and I’ll be giving away a prize pack of goodies from the band in an upcoming contest!

Grab your swim suits and join us at the Bay Aquatic Park in Broomfield on Sunday, July 5th for some fun in the sun! We will meet at the picnic tables around 1p.m. We get a special rate of $4.00 per person, kids under three are free. Please join us at 7 pm on Monday, July 14th at the Ranch Park in Westminster. This is the same park we went to last July. It is located at 11899 Tejon Street right outside the Ranch Country Club and just west of 120th Ave and Pecos.
We will have some yummy ice cream treats and everyone can just relax and have fun with friends. Please note, we will not have a New Member Chat prior to the club meeting.
