Because of the change in venue, no food or drink are allowed to be brought in but you are welcome and encouraged to buy drinks or order off the menu there.
Childcare is NOT available!
This has changed as well. Because of the alternate meeting venue and limited space available to us, we will be unable to provide childcare for the September meeting. We apologize in advance for this inconvenience.

June Club Meeting
Love and Logic with Sheryl Schwabe
Monday, June 7th, 2010
At no time in history have parents been more unsure of their parental role. Even the best are not all that sure about whether they are using the best techniques. Many of the philosophies sound good, but don’t seem to do the job of helping children become respectful, responsible, and a joy to be around. There is, however, an approach to raising kids that provides loving support from parents while at the same time expecting kids to be respectful and responsible.
This program is known as Parenting with Love and Logic, a philosophy founded by Jim Fay and Foster W. Cline, M.D., and based on the experience of a combined total of over 75 years working with and raising kids. Many parents want their kids to be well prepared for life, and they know this means kids will make mistakes and must be held accountable for those mistakes. But these parents often fail to hold the kids accountable for poor decisions because they are afraid the kids will see their parents as being mean. The result is they often excuse bad behavior, finding it easier to hold others, including themselves, accountable for their children’s irresponsibility. Jim Fay teaches us that we should “lock in our empathy, love, and understanding” prior to telling kids what the consequences of their actions will be. The parenting course Becoming a Love and Logic Parent teaches parents how to hold their kids accountable in this special way. This Love and Logic method causes the child to see their parent as the “good guy” and the child’s poor decision as the “bad guy.”
Our meeting is at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church is located at 12099 Lowell Blvd., Broomfield. New Members Chat (for new moms, expectant moms and all other interested members) starts at 6 pm. Club business starts at 7 pm. We will also have our usual after-meeting gathering at C. B. & Potts on 120th between Mariposa and Huron. See you there!

Chocolate Friendships
Monday, February 1, 2010, **TIME CHANGE** 6:15 pm
Though women are constantly surrounded by people (their families, coworkers, fellow shoppers, etc.), many are living lonely lives. In Chocolate Friendships we examine why friendships are vital to the emotional health of women, the levels of friendship, and why it is so difficult for the modern woman to pursue and maintain friendships. We also look at strategies for keeping relationships active and healthy in our busy world.
Jamison Durbin is a part-time writer, speaker, jazz vocalist as well as a full time mother of four (Timothy-19, Tommy-17, Johnathan-16 and Jenny Girl-14). She is a graduate of the School of Women ‘s Ministries and was a member of the MOPS (Mothers Of Preschoolers) program for ten years. In 1997 she started a new MOPS group in her home church, Centennial Covenant, where she was the coordinator until the spring of 2001. Jamison’s humorous speaking style has been enjoyed at women’s’ groups and retreats since 1996.
