Last minute update here &#8211; looking for something fun to do with your kids this weekend? Head over to the Denver Botanic Gardens on Sunday, August 3rd for the GROWING SEEDS OF CHANGE &#8211; FAMILY FUN DAY. The event is sponsored by The Rocky Mountain Down Syndrome Educational Fund and runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThe Family Fun Day will provide a meaningful and fun way to help change attitudes and educate people about diversity and differences, especially when it comes to Down syndrome,\u201d said Brian Vogt, CEO of Denver Botanic Gardens.\u201c Growing those seeds of change in young minds is an important step and we are pleased that we can take that step on the grounds of the Gardens\u201d<\/p>\n<p>       \u201cDenver Botanic Gardens is a dream space for an event like this,\u201d Michelle Sie Whitten, Chair of the Advisory Board of The Rocky Mountain Down Syndrome Educational Fund and Executive Director of Anna and John J. Sie Foundation said.  \u201cThrough our families we are able to bring a lot of new families to one of Denver\u2019s greatest cultural facilities and it gives us an opportunity to raise awareness for some wonderfully worthy causes.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This event is going to be a blast for parents and their children, with lots to see and do! Come hang out with characters from popular books, such as Alice in Wonderland, Harry Potter and Winnie the Pooh. Local celebrities will be on hand to do book readings. (who? Shag-man from Rocky&#8217;s Auto? The G-Man from the Fox? I can&#8217;t wait to find out who our local &#8220;celebrities&#8221; are!) Many hands-on activities will be available for kids to take part in, and families can get their picture taken with costumed characters.<\/p>\n<p>Here is just a short list of what to expect:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> Storybook Characters \u2013 Alice in Wonderland, Queen of Hearts, Cat in the Hat, and Harry Potter\n<li> Storybook Readings by Local Celebrities\n<li> Milk &#038; Cookies with the Milkman\n<li> Flower Pot Painting\n<li> Planting Stations\n<li> Face Painting\n<li> Balloon Artist\n<\/ul>\n<p>And, most exciting of all, a chance to see one of my kids&#8217; favorite bands ever, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.milkshakemusic.com\/\">MILKSHAKE<\/a>, performing live in concert and doing a Meet &#038; Greet and photos with fans!<\/p>\n<p><center><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/i5.photobucket.com\/albums\/y197\/lalagirl727\/MILKSHAKE2008BandShot.jpg\" width=450 alt=\"Milkshake\"><\/center><\/p>\n<p>If you have preschool age kids who watch Noggin, you probably are familiar with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.milkshakemusic.com\/music.cfm\">Milkshake&#8217;s music<\/a>, as they&#8217;ve appeared many times on Jack&#8217;s Big Music Show.
